ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Utilize expertise in necessary applications, including Ellucian Banner architecture to manage the day-to-day operations of the Portal, Banner and Web Application Development product/service line function. Provide oversight and management of specific projects, staff, and deliverables. Drive the collaboration with relevant IT departments either contributing to or impacted by current services and projects. 2. Manage staffing (recruiting, interviewing, selection), Performance evaluations and corrective actions as needed for staff. Enable the professional development of staff to improve individual and organizational performance and productivity. 3. Contribute to the establishment of operating standards, product roadmaps, development and implementation methodologies, documentation and timetables. Contribute to the refinement of these areas as needed and enable their incorporation into established IT governance. 4. Plan, direct, track, and manage progress, resolve issues, and manage changes in current services and projects for the application development team. Escalate problems as needed to appropriate groups (executive, leadership, and client). Effectively negotiate changes and provide supporting documentation as needed. 5. Provide oversight review and evaluation of project work that is performed by application developers. 6. Provide after hours on-call support for critical development and application issues. 7. In conjunction with Business Technology staff, consult with clients in assessing and framing their requests for technical support and projects and in defining business and functional requirements of application development projects. 8. Resolve issues and manage conflict with client departments to affect positive long-term working relationships. 9. Review User needs and requests develop proposed solutions to needs and Requests for Enhancements (RPE’s) where required, participate in the development and adherence to project schedules. 10. Assume leadership role in the testing and installation of development programs. Design, develop and implement application enhancements while ensuring adherence to detailed programming procedures and change controls. 11. Develop and implement metrics to allow accurate estimation of resource requirements as new demands, techniques or technologies are realized. 12. Prepare and distribute status report for various stakeholders, management groups and Information Technology management. 13. Participate in planning, communication, and leadership and problem-solving activities as requested. 14. Participate in coordinating with all other areas of CCCS-IT and CCCOnline when required for Banner upgrades, maintenance, change management, documentation, and requests for enhancement/change and problem resolution. 15. Work with Project Managers, Infrastructure Team, DBAs and other team members to effectively complete projects.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:             Master’s degree in Computer Science, or foreign equivalent

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:           12 months of experience in job offered
