CCCOnline seeks qualified part-time instructors to teach fully online courses in Computer Science. Reporting to the program chair, as an adjunct instructor you would share your skills and knowledge to prepare CCCOnline students for successful careers. Using a master course template that follows Quality Matters (QM) design standards, you would personalize the course and supplemental content to provide a robust online learning experience to our students. You would also enjoy the flexibility of working from home and receive support in the form of professional development opportunities, access to an extensive library of resources, a teaching excellence program, and a community of colleagues.

  • Use online course template as course foundation. Personalize course and supplemental content
  • Facilitate online discussions and student engagement
  • Provide instruction to help student meet course objectives

An ideal candidate will have a PHD or equivalent in Information Technology or Computer Science and be able to teach any CNG or CSC class.

  • Must physically work in the state of Colorado
  • Vocational Education Credentialing: Applicants must be eligible to obtain a CTE credential in their area of instruction or already possess a valid CTE credential from a Colorado Community College or Colorado Higher Educational Institution.
  • Secondary CTE credentials in the instructional area will also meet the credentialing requirement.


  • Master's degree or higher specifically in Computer Science
  • Previous higher education teaching experience (preferably at the community college level)
  • Online teaching experience
  • Strong computer and Internet skills
  • Good written communication skills
  • Understanding of adult learning theories and ability to effectively apply this knowledge in online learning environment

CCCS hires Adjunct Instructors to teach online courses through CCCOnline.  Adjunct Instructors are hired to teach courses on a temporary, as needed basis.  When openings in programs are available for the coming semester, they will be listed on the CCCS Employment Opportunities site.

All instructors must pass online teaching orientation before they are assigned classes.  Selection as an Instructor is not a guarantee of employment.  Instruction contracts are assigned based on student enrollment on a semester to semester basis.

Fall and Spring semesters include Session I (15-week courses), Fast Track One (6-week courses), Session II (10-week courses), and Fast Track Two (6-week courses).  Summer semester consists of one 10-week session and one 6-week session.  Adjunct Instructors may teach up to 12 credit hours per semester for CCCOnline.

Former employees of the Colorado Community College System or one of its 13 colleges, who were disciplinarily terminated or resigned in lieu of termination, must disclose this within your application materials.
