The Sr. Project Manager / Business Analyst for Student and IT Supervisor supervises the Project Manager/Business Analyst for Student and two Quality Assurance Analysts for Student and Financial Aid. He/she is responsible for coaching, mentoring, and succession planning with the team along with developing individual training plans for team members. The Sr. Project Manager / Business Analyst is responsible for managing projects and project teams to facilitate the on-time delivery of project objectives. In addition, the Project Manager will be the main contact to the business areas within Student Services, helping them identify priorities, develop business cases, and develop detailed requirements. The Sr. Project Manager follows established project management methodologies throughout each of the projects and will participate in setting or refining the standards for project management. Typically the Sr. Project Manager works with very little direct supervision. He/she directs the activities of the project teams and Quality Assurance Analysts in the areas of Student Services and communicates with the appropriate team leads, business units, and management. CCCS-IT provides high level support to the IT Directors and staff at all thirteen colleges and is the provider for the Wide Area Network, internet access, Exchange, the Banner ERP system, and Web/Portal systems.  CCCS-IT works with the college  IT directors and CCCS senior management to establish IT policies and standards for both the system office and the colleges.

Special Job Conditions:

  • The position will work independently and as a member of various teams of technology members and end users. Must be able to work effectively with a diverse population.
  • Attendance at required meetings and in-services.  Occasional travel may be required.
  • Daily schedules may fluctuate to accommodate organizational needs, deadlines and delivery of services.

  • Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field from an accredited college or university.
  • Relevant education and experience in the appropriate technical and management areas may substitute year for year for the required degree.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of project management experience for technical projects including large scale projects.
  • Minimum of three (3) years relevant functional experience with Banner or similar ERP system.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of relevant higher education experience.
  • Proven team leadership experience.
  • Solid understanding and business acumen in the areas of Student Services.
  • Proven understanding of project management concepts and development life cycle methodologies.
  • Experience with Change Management methodology.
  • Familiarity with project management tools (e.g. MS Project, PlanView).
  • A good understanding of and experience defining detailed process flows.
  • Ability to define user needs and to facilitate development of technical solutions.
  • Ability to instruct others, both individually and in a group setting.
  • Good listening skills and excellent oral and written communication skills in technical and non- technical settings.  Excellent presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Self-motivated and self-started, requires little supervision and guidance.
  • Ability to interact well with a diverse campus population
  • Excellent customer service skills, for both internal and external customers.
  • Ability to work directly with customers and vendors to understand and resolve functional or technical issues or concerns.
  • Ability to work effectively on concurrent, multiple tasks and projects.
  • Ability to work independently to coordinate, organize and track tasks effectively and to meet project deadlines.
  • Experience supporting 24x7 environments.
  • Experience with Ellucian Banner.
  • Master’s degree.
  • PMP or comparable certification.
  • Basic understanding of systems architectures
  • Five (5) years of project management experience for technical projects including large scale projects.
