Budget Analyst

Provides quantitative and analytical support, assists in budget and reporting activities and works with all System departments and Colleges as needed for projects and deliverables.

  • Works with the colleges’ budget staff to prepare the annual operating budget for all colleges.
  • Performs daily and monthly tasks such as budget to actual reporting, reviewing spending requests, maintains current staffing pattern and documents all mid-year budget changes.
  • Works with Sr. Budget Analyst to develop system office budget, monitors expenditures, maintains working budget models for System, CCCOnline and System Grant activity.
  • Works with the Sr. Budget Analyst to prepare budget data books, tuition and fee reports, capital construction requests, and other external and internal budget-related reporting.
  • Works with System Controller, College Business Officers, IT staff and others coordinating budget and accounting issues and initiatives.
  • Provides ad hoc reporting and analysis to the Budget Director and the Vice President for Finance and Administration as requested.
  • Assists departments in analysis as well as train others in using internal systems (Banner, COGNOS).
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a degree in a related field.
  • One year of professional work experience that includes preparing and reviewing budgets, and researching, analyzing and reporting a variety of data. 
  • Two years of related professional experience working in a higher education institution.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
